Pitchmastic PmB International News

Black Gold Found In Qatar

Pitchmastic PmB International is proud to announce that it has commenced the expansion joint works on the prestigious Al Wakra Bypass project in Qatar.

The works are being undertaken for main contractor Larsen & Toubro with whom Pitchmastic PmB International have previously worked with in Oman and in the UAE. The client is Ashghal with KBR as project manager and CH2M Hill as design consultant.

The expansion joint works involve the supply and installation of around 850m of Britflex BEJ (8,10 and 15) Elastomeric in metal runners and approximately 170m of Modular expansion joint.

Yet another successful project for Pitchmastic PmB International which is being undertaken by very experienced site team.

This is a first for Pitchmastic PmB International in Qatar and hopefully will lead to other opportunities as we aim to broaden our offering around the region.

The Britflex BEJ joints were selected for the bulk of the expansion joints which ranged from 70 to 137mm design movement. The Modular joints had to be designed to accommodate up to 250mm.

The original Design was for all joints to be Modular type but in view of the substantial programme benefits, labour savings, reduced heavy lifting as well as delivery and reduced lead in periods the Britflex BEJ joints were approved and preferred.

Works are being fast tracked as the entire project approaches completion and will involve multi crew operations from our joint Pitchmastic and Larsen & Toubro site based staff.
